Governor Ayade Suspends Commissioner And MD For Not Resuming By 9am

The Cross River state governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, has suspended the Commissioner for Water Resources, Ntufam Gabe Odu Ojie, and the Managing Director of the state water board, Dr. Oju Igile for not reporting to work as at 9am, noting that the suspension would be a strong warning to errant government employees and appointees.yade handed this penalty on the duo when he carried out his usual unscheduled tour of Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, in the state to ensure that civil and public servants comply strictly with basic work ethics.

Addressing journalists on Monday at the premises of the ministry in Calabar, the state capital, he stated that it was an act of indiscipline for appointees not to be at their duty post before 9 O’clock in the morning.

The governor said, “This is about 9 o’clock in the morning and the Commissioner for Water Resources is not at his duty post. The Managing Director of Cross River State Water Board is not in the office.

“I cannot understand why he is not in the office. I therefore, with immediate effect, announce his suspension.
“We will appoint somebody to take over this office with immediate effect. Any single Commissioner I find in this circumstance will leave.”

Ayade went on to check truancy by supervising a roll call of staff who signed the time book as of the time of his visit. Afterwards, he directed that all defaulting staff be disciplined in line with the civil service rules.

My Strong will for excellence and family support made me achieve Academic Excellence - Dr Olawunmi Ogunmola

I am starting a series, and this series is me interviewing some people doing great in key areas, I decided to kick start the episode with someone I share a history with because I saw firsthand how she excelled while we were in secondary school, the reason why I am doing this is simple, to help people trace certain things backward and to help them see how some things are predictive. Wunmi and I went to the same secondary school and I can tell you without a doubt, she was very studious, she was a bookworm,, but II also know many bookworms that were not geniuses, so I decided to ask her how she did it. some people say, Hard work ,  Luck, Heredity , and Prayers, I say, let's hear from the horse's mouth. She was the best-graduating Chemical Engineering student in the year 2008/2009 from Obafemi Awolowo University with a CGPA of 4.88 Check out our Conversation Below   Me; Hi Olawunmi, long time, how have you been? Dr. Olawunmi: I am doing great, indeed, it's been a long time,
