FORGIVENESS!! Forgiveness is the renunciation of resentment or anger as a result of a perceived offense, disagreement, or mistake, The Oxford English Dictionary defines forgiveness as 'to grant free pardon and to give up all claim on account of an offence or debt'. FORGIVENESS FROM THE CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE: In the New Testament, Jesus speaks of the importance of Christians forgiving or showing mercy towards others. Body of newborn baby found on rubbish dump in Bradford

The body of a newborn baby has been found on rubbish dump in Bradford. The infant was discovered just before 10.30pm last night by staff working at a waste management site on Valley Road in the city, which handles rubbish from Bradford and Leeds. Police are now appealing for the baby's mum to come forward, with officers expressing "serious concerns" about her health.

Man arrested for threatening BRT boss with snakes

  There was anxiety at the Ketu Bus Rapid Transit depot in Lagos State after a man brought two big snakes to the office of the  depot chairman, Chief Sunday Yusuf. UNCH Metro learnt that the man, Sunday Ogbaide, who was later arrested by the Ketu Police Division, said he was sent by a yet-to-be identified person to sell the snakes to the BRT boss.

Pastor in trouble over missing mental patient

The pastor of a church in Yaba, Lagos State, Samuel Awolusi, has been tagged by the police as the main suspect for the sudden disappearance of a mentally challenged patient, Sunday Ayeni, who was taken to his church for prayers. Awolusi was detained for 10 days before being released on bail on the condition he would produce the missing 32-year-old. Awolusi, who heads Eternal Rock of Ages Church, Iwaya, was said to have brought Sunday to Lagos from Ile-Ife, Osun State, on January 14, 2013, promising to help cure his mental problem through special prayers. Barely a week after, however, Sunday was said to have disappeared and had not been found.

FG approves of five-year jail term for exam malpractice

The Federal Executive Council has approved the amendment to an Act of the West African Examinations Council, part of which will make culprits of examination malpractice to be liable to five-year jail term or N200,000 fine or both. The Minister of Education, Prof Ruqayyat Rufai, announced this in Abuja on Wednesday while briefing State House Correspondents on the outcome of the weekly FEC meeting. He addressed journalists in company with her counterpart in the Health and Environment ministries, Onyebuchi Chukwu and Hadza Mailafia, respectively. Rufai said the decision of the meeting, which was presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan, was to “give effect to the revised convention of WAEC, 2003 in Nigeria.”
