I'm Privileged To Sleep In The Same Prison Bed Used By Obasanjo, Says Jonah Jang

Jonah Jang, former Governor of Plateau  State, has revealed that he sleeps in the same bed that Olusegun Obasanjo, former President, occupied at Kuje Prisons in Jos. He made this known in a speech read by Pastor Abraham Yiljap, his former Commissioner of Information, who represented him at the opening ceremony of the 94th General Church Council of Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) on Wednesday. In the goodwill message read to the church, Jang said his remand in prison was a divine intervention, stating that nobody should boast of sending him to prison.

Super Eagles to arrive in Yessentuki today

The Super Eagles are expected to arrive in their Russia 2018 World Cup base camp in Yessentuki, Russia today. The team is expected to fly out of their Avita Resort in Bad Tatzmannsdorf, Austria, where they have been camped for close to two weeks, for the Russian city where they will prepare for all their group games at their sixth World Cup. Since emerging from an appropriately–styled ‘Group of Death’ in the African qualifying series, becoming the first African team to reach the finals in Russia, the Eagles have played against Argentina, Poland, Serbia, DR Congo, England and Czech Republic in friendlies, winning two, drawing one and losing three. Nigerian reggae star, Ras Kimono is dead

Popular reggae artiste,  Ras Kimono , is  dead . According to sources close to him, Kimono was rushed to an unnamed hospital in Ikeja and then taken to another hospital on Lagos Island where he later died on Sunday morning. The death of the artiste, who was a native of Onicha Olona in the Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State and who recently clocked 60, was confirmed dead by a close family member

Governor Ambode declares June 12 as public holiday in Lagos State

Lagos State Government has declared Tuesday, June 12, 2018, as a public holiday in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the annulled 1993 Presidential elections adjudged to be have won by the late Moshood Abiola. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello on Saturday, said the significance of June 12, 1993 elections, seen as the freest and fairest in the history of Nigeria, would always be a reference point by the Lagos State Government.  Ambode also commended President Buhari’s recent declaration of June as the new Democracy Day.
