Politics:Only APC can bring Nigeria out of its present situation – Tinubu, Buhari

National leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) and Bola Tinubu, yesterday vowed that if elected, the party would solve the nation’s security problems.
The APC leaders, who condemned the federal government’s inability to subdue the Boko Haram insurgents, urged Nigerians to join “broom revolution” to restore peace to the country.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti yesterday during the presentation of the governorship flag to Dr Kayode Fayemi and unveiling of manifesto for the June 21 governorship poll, Gen. Buhari said it was rather saddening and grievous to see the blood of innocent Nigerians being shed by the insurgents.

APC has competent hands to steer the ship of the nation. It is a party I believe and have conviction that can bring Nigeria out of its present situation”, Buhari said.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Tinubu said “APC is the cure to Nigeria’s headache in the areas of unemployment, killings, ineptitude and in Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi is the Doctor.
“I don’t have to sell Fayemi to you again because his landmark achievements in all facets have shown his values. I commend you for standing by our party, but this can only manifest if you refuse to sell your votes or be bought over by the PDP on the day of election.
“You have nothing to fear on the day of election. No police or soldier can intimidate you because it is we Nigerians that pay their salaries. The June 21 election is an opportunity for you to show to the PDP that it has been rejected by Nigerians”.
On his part, Imo State governor, Rochas Owelle Okorocha, said “Nigerians must reject the PDP in all elections. When the wicked are in power, the people will suffer but when the righteous are there, the people rejoice.
“If not for the fact that Fayemi has signified interest to be governor of Ekiti State, he is qualified to be governor anywhere in the country”, he said.
In his acceptance speech, Governor Fayemi, who commended the people for their support, said Ekiti cannot afford to impose mediocrity on itself in the name of politics, expressing confidence that he will triumph over his challengers in the June 21 poll.
Fayemi said, “What we have been able to achieve in this first term are not my achievements alone; they are yours as well. In the past closeto four years, what we have seen are the first fruits of what can happen when we pull together and work together. By the grace of God and with your invaluable help, we ioare once again lifting the flag ofour great party to run in the gubernatorial race, and we are confident you will give us your vote.
“Elections are choices and as we prepare for the polls to be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014, it is important that we understand that the elections will go beyond merely choosing between people or parties”.

My Strong will for excellence and family support made me achieve Academic Excellence - Dr Olawunmi Ogunmola

I am starting a series, and this series is me interviewing some people doing great in key areas, I decided to kick start the episode with someone I share a history with because I saw firsthand how she excelled while we were in secondary school, the reason why I am doing this is simple, to help people trace certain things backward and to help them see how some things are predictive. Wunmi and I went to the same secondary school and I can tell you without a doubt, she was very studious, she was a bookworm,, but II also know many bookworms that were not geniuses, so I decided to ask her how she did it. some people say, Hard work ,  Luck, Heredity , and Prayers, I say, let's hear from the horse's mouth. She was the best-graduating Chemical Engineering student in the year 2008/2009 from Obafemi Awolowo University with a CGPA of 4.88 Check out our Conversation Below   Me; Hi Olawunmi, long time, how have you been?
