Justin Bieber Justin Bieber told off by British schoolboy for his poor grammar and letter goes viral
A British schoolboy's letter to Justin Bieber has gone viral after he gave the pop star a ticking off - for poor grammar. The eleven-year-old is studying for his punctuation and grammar SATs test and was angered by the singer's incorrect use of the "subjunctive mood" in his song Boyfriend. The unnamed Year 6 boy penned a letter to the songwriter lambasting him for his incorrect grammar, which went viral after it was posted on Facebook by his teacher. The letter says: "If current performers, such as Beyonce can write a song using the subjunctive mood correctly, so must you." It has gone viral after being shared more than 500 times across the world, as far flung as Mexico, Australia and America. The letter, posted by teacher Louise Williams from South West Cornwall, said: "I am writing to you to raise an issue about your song 'Boyfriend', which you released in 2012. "In the song, you can be heard - on a number of occasions - stating 'If I was your boyfriend': here you have clearly used the subjunctive mood incorrectly. "The correct lyrics should, in fact, be 'If I were your boyfriend'.
