Singer James Blunt has come out on top in a Twitter spat with a critic who labelled him "annoying."

The singer, a former soldier who is now a multimillionaire recording artist, responded dryly: "And no mortgage."
The conversation was retweeted this morning by talk show host Piers Morgan.
Blunt's witty riposte will be welcomed by his fans.
