FCT MINISTER AND THE ABUJA URBAN MASS TRANSPORT COMPANY



The Abuja urban mass transport company drivers and other staff have
been on strike
for the pass one month over unpaid salary for the five months still counting.
The FCT minster whose ministry over sees the affairs of providing
effective and subsidized
transport service for the large population of civil servants who live
within and outside the city centre have totally turn a deaf ears to
the strike owing to the inability of the management to pay the staff
salary.

Report gathered that the situation has become very unbearable to the
populace due to the total neglect of the EL-Rufai  Bus that has been
the pride of the Nigeria capital city with lack of proper
transportation infrastructure like: Passenger loading Pack, a pack and
ride system and terminals.
Investigation revealed that the FCT minister is planning to scrap the
Transport company on the recommendation of the FCT permanent secretary
and the acting Director of Treasury which will indirectly render the
over 800 staff in the workforce including dependent family members.
This is a call to save the El-Rufai Bus company
