NIGERIA! "The wife of an unfaithful husband" written By Grace Edibo

NIGERIA THE ‘WIFE OF AN UNFAITHFUL HUSBAND”
A country as great and blessed as Nigeria can be likened to a wife living with an unfaithful husband,
someone once mentioned that no matter how beautiful, curvy and talented a woman is, if she is
married to a man who loves to cheat, he’ll still cheat.
Wondering what this means? What similarities they share to be compared? Don’t wonder in vain, I’ll
break it down as much as I can.
NATURAL AND HUMAN RESOURCES; Nigeria is blessed with rich human and natural resources, Nigeria
has got the best brains in the world, quote and unquote, brilliant Surgeons, wonderful sportsmen,
intelligent women and brave soldiers, sadly the best brains are been utilized in other countries instead
of Nigeria, where they are better off and greatly honored. Examples of these great people are, DR
Oluyinka Olutoye, Anthony Joshua, and Chimamanda Adichie. To mention but a few.
As for the natural resources, the list would be endless but let me just mention the one that has made
Nigeria somewhat lazy and has refused to look elsewhere. CRUDE OIL’
A PRETTY, INTELLIGENT AND TALENTED WIFE who with all her natural endowment has been abandoned
at home to cater to the kids, cook and most times abused and ignored while ‘oga’ goes to chase a
younger girl, who can only meet his sexual needs and who in exchange, milks him of his money.
Comparing the two in black and white might just give a lot away, I’ll rather go ahead with my points
hoping that in-between this piece, the outstanding facts would show itself.
Nothing is a hundred percent perfect, in fact it has been scientifically proven that nothing is 100%
efficient, which is a valid point but when something falls within the range of 70% 80% and 90%
respectively, it is good enough. The blessings that surrounds Nigeria, from the north to the south and
form the east to the west cannot be over emphasized, however, there is a huge problem.

THE NORTH
I spent a good number of years in the north so the information I am about to share is first hand and
undiluted. When it comes to FOOD! The north is super blessed with fresh and rich food, the fertile land,
the large expanse land, milk and honey sure flows from the land in the North.
Is it the gigantic ABUJA YAM, OR TOMATO JOS, OR THE SEEDLESS AND SWEET ORANGES FROM BENUE
STATE, LETS NOT EVEN MENTION THE ONIONS IN KANO?
But there is a problem? Cash crops, that can help the country greatly has become history. No more
cottons from Zaria For the growth of textile companies, what of the cocoa from Ondo state, what has
become of it?
The wife of an unfaithful husband is fruitful, she bares him boys and girls but he wonders into the hands
of a stranger where he seeks for twins or triplets or in most cases more male children.

THE SOUTH
WOW!!!!! A well-deserved wow indeed, OIL!(more of a curse than a blessing), I scream in annoyance ,
that is all we are about, we are clueless, God has blessed Nigeria especially the SOUTH with oil, we get
the oil, make good money and then abandon the land, residents suffer from oil spillage, bad roads, bad
‘everything’
She carries the child for 9 months, delivers and she becomes too fat and ugly for your liking, she is no
longer attractive, she becomes an abandoned project. Nigeria, the wife of an unfaithful husband.

THE EAST.
Creativity and versatility at its peak, the people from the east are hardworking, creative and zealous.
There is nothing that cannot be made in Aba, but the problem as always. Why buy made in Aba when
you can buy made in America? Since the quality of what is perceived to be made in Aba is cheap, they
are left with no other choice but to produce cheap and affordable things, they can be more if only we
believe in them, yes us, NIGERIANS.
She is seen only as a breeding tool, she cannot talk where people are talking, after all she is a house
wife, and is confined to the “other room” nothing good is expected to come out of her.

The WEST.
The brilliant ones, they are loaded with all the qualifications needed to be the best, but there is a
problem, how is it possible that after studying hard to be a Surgeon, you cannot even practice,
because there are no standard hospitals here in Nigeria, underpaid surgeons all over the place, no
equipment to work with, they’ll rather practice where they are seen as gods.

  1. Very brilliant analogy of the ugly state of the Nigerian State.
It is even worse knowing that this wife is pregnant yet, she suffers this sort of wanton neglect.

My Strong will for excellence and family support made me achieve Academic Excellence - Dr Olawunmi Ogunmola

I am starting a series, and this series is me interviewing some people doing great in key areas, I decided to kick start the episode with someone I share a history with because I saw firsthand how she excelled while we were in secondary school, the reason why I am doing this is simple, to help people trace certain things backward and to help them see how some things are predictive. Wunmi and I went to the same secondary school and I can tell you without a doubt, she was very studious, she was a bookworm,, but II also know many bookworms that were not geniuses, so I decided to ask her how she did it. some people say, Hard work ,  Luck, Heredity , and Prayers, I say, let's hear from the horse's mouth. She was the best-graduating Chemical Engineering student in the year 2008/2009 from Obafemi Awolowo University with a CGPA of 4.88 Check out our Conversation Below   Me; Hi Olawunmi, long time, how have you been?
