Adele is looking to cap her record-breaking year by getting engaged to her long-term boyfriend.
The star is said to have quietly agreed to marry Simon Konecki, the father of her son Angelo.
The engagement would round off an incredible 2016 for the star, who broke sales records and signed a £90million record deal.
The 28-year-old has been dating charity boss Simon for five years .
A friend said: “They’ve decided it’s the right time to think about making that step.
“They won’t make a big song and dance about it, that’s not the way either of them are, and you won’t see Adele walking around with a huge diamond on her finger flaunting it.
"But they’re ready to take the next step and both very excited about the prospect.
“Adele has had an amazing time on tour and is enjoying performing to fans - but she’s looking forward to spending some quiet time at home with her family after 10 months on the road.”
The star recently moved to an upmarket community in Los Angeles where she has become friendly with a host of celebrity neighbours
Simon continues to spend a lot of time travelling for his work with water charity Drop4Drop.
Their time apart previously sparked rumours of a split, but the couple quickly quashed the claims by appearing together.
She has been quick to thank him for his support.
Adele gushed at the Brits: “I’m so lucky to have you love me the way you do.”
