Family members of a missing four-year-old girl, Elo Ogidi, were overjoyed on Friday after she was found in an orphanage in Benin, Edo State. Elo was reportedly stolen from the Christ Embassy in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos State, during a church service she attended in company with her parents and their housemaid on Sunday, July 8, 2018. The girl was with the maid during the church’s children thanksgiving service when she suddenly disappeared.

A Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, has restrained MultiChoice Nigeria Limited from implementing its recent hike in DStv subscription rates. In July, MultiChoice raised the subscription rate for the DSTV Premium package from N14,700 to N15,800, Compact Plus from N9,900 to N10,650, Compact from N6,300 to N6,800, Family from N3,800 to N4,000, and Access from N1,900 to N2,000. The implementation of the rates commenced on August 1. However, on Monday, Justice NNamdi Dimgba granted an injunction restraining the video entertainment and internet company from implementing the new rates.

A 45-year-old man, Musibau Asinde, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for having unlawful carnal knowledge of an 11-year-old in Ibese area of Ilaro. The 45 year old suspect was arrested following a complaint from the mother of the victim, Risikat Idowu. Idowu, who reported that she sent her daughter on errand at about 7:30pm on June 5, 2018, said the girl who returned from the errand very late to complain that she was lured by Asinde with N100 note into his apartment where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.On receiving the report, the DPO of Ilaro Division, CSP Opebiyi Sunday, led his men to the residence of the suspect, where he was promptly arrested.

A life has been cut short, this could have been avoided, there are several stories flying around with regards to how the beautiful girl died, the issue is not what the  stories are, the issue is a family that trained their daughter for many years in school, who graduated and then decided to serve her motherland meritoriously and just a day to her passing out, this unfortunate incidence happened. A proper investigation is needed so that those that contributed to her untimely death would be brought to book. this reckless killings has to stop.

Popular reggae artiste,  Ras Kimono , is  dead . According to sources close to him, Kimono was rushed to an unnamed hospital in Ikeja and then taken to another hospital on Lagos Island where he later died on Sunday morning.
