Zambian president dies at 77

The Zambian president, Michael Sata, has died in London where he was being treated in a private hospital for an undisclosed illness, the Zambian government has confirmed. Sata died shortly after 11pm on Tuesday at London’s King Edward VII hospital, the cabinet secretary Roland Msiska said in a statement. Sata’s wife, Christine Kaseba, and his son, Mulenga Sata, were at the 77-year-old president’s side when he died, Msiska said.

Oscar Pistorius Jailed 5 years For Killing Girlfriend

     The sentence was for culpable homicide which Pistorius was found guilty of. The defence called for a house arrest and community service, while the state prosecutor asked the court to impose a minimum of 10 years in prison. Judge Thokozile Masipa, Tuesday, said any sentence would need to demonstrate a balance between the crime, the criminal and the effect on the society.
